What was the reason for going to college?
I decided to go to college because I wanted to experience something unique, as well as combining soccer and school in the best way possible.
What is the best thing about being in college?
The best thing about being in college is definitely the people you meet. Especially the sport environment consists of people from all over the world, so you get to meet a lot of different people with different backgrounds. The college experience is something unique, and adding sports to it really gives you an amazing experience.
To this date, what is your best memory?
My best memory this far would have to be my first soccer trip my freshman year. We traveled to New York and played against LIU Brooklyn in the middle of New York City, surrounded by tall buildings. It was our first game, I got my first playing minutes, and we got our first victory. That was the start of an amazing experience that still surprises me every day.
What are your plans after graduating?
I still don’t know exactly what I will do after graduation, but I will most likely go back to Norway and either continue studying or just take some time off to figure out what the next step will be.
What is your best advice for the people back home debating whether to go to the US or not?
My best advise for people thinking about going to the US is to just go for it, it’s better to have tried it out than to regret not going later. Prepare yourself for a lot of hard work and commitment, as well as ups and downs, but also understand that your teammates are going through the exact same experience, and that it is definitely worth it in the end if you’re willing to put in the effort required. I’ve had some amazing experiences that I would never have had if I didn’t decide to just go for it and try.
