Zack Evenden is doing extremely well in his first year of college tennis and took his team, Cowley College, deep into the NJCAA-Nationals. Zack had an equally impressive individual season, earning a ranking of #5 in the nation. He earned the extremely prestigious All-American award.
How has your experience as a student-athlete in the US been so far?
It has been a new and exciting experience and I have enjoyed every minute of it so far, the training and everything that goes along with it.
Has your stay in the US met your expectations thus far?
It has met my expectations because it has been tough and I’ve had to put in a lot of hard work but it is all worth it and very enjoyable.
Have you improved as a tennis player?
I have improved a lot mentally and matured a lot as a tennis player because you start to depend on yourself more once you are away from home. My team won our conference and regionals, qualifying for nationals and improved our ranking to 7th in the nation.
What is your most memorable moment in the sporting arena in your collegiate career so far?
Most memorable moment so far would have to be my final match at regionals that decided whether we were to win it or come 2nd. When I won the whole team ran on to the court after the last point and swarmed over me with excitement.
